Are you in some way, shape or form, into making art? From photographers and musicians, to digital artists and animators, the crypto/NFT space is the newest and most innovative way to be rewarded financially for your creativity. However, there are a lot of great artists already involved in the NFT space who are still struggling to find traction in their sales and results. The purpose of this post is to help artists who are either curious about stepping into the crypto space or those who want to find more success in NFT sales help find solutions to the problems that may be holding them back.
To start things off, the reason so many artists struggle to find traction in the crypto space is because they do not know the right places to look. Under no circumstances should an artist be getting no interest in their art if they are willing to search for the following:
-The right platform
-The right community
-Consistent releases and marketing
Finding the right platform is the first and most important part about getting started with selling NFTs. More and more NFT marketplaces are quickly developing for all types of various art and new platforms are always in search for new creators. Some platforms will even send you money to help with gas fees in order to get you committed to posting on their site. For example, I am an audio engineer by trade, so when I found ROCKI, a platform for music NFTs, I knew I had found the right niche for me. There are marketplaces for photographers to sell their photos, for animators to sell their animations, for musicians to sell their music and even for trolls to sell their favorite original memes. If you find the right platform for your art, you will greatly increase your chances of sales and find a community interested in your art.
Community is also a crucial part of success in this industry (like most). If you are not willing to connect with others, you will greatly limit the outreach of your art. In an industry like crypto, hype and discussion is almost as valuable, if not more valuable, than the art itself. I am convinced that at least a quarter of my NFT sales were simply the result of networking with the right people which subsequently made them believe in me and my art. Once you have found the right platform for you, join all their community discussions via apps like Twitter, Telegram and Discord.
When it comes to getting sales on your NFTs it is very important to stay consistent with your releases. The more NFTs you release, the more people will start to believe in your work ethic which will make them believe in your NFTs. The more they start to believe in your NFTs, the more valuable your older NFTs become. The more valuable your NFTs become, the more sales you will start to net on your newer releases. This also shows that it pays to be patient and you should not get discouraged if you do not get a lot of sales on your first few NFTs. Along with consistent releases, it is crucial that you market your NFTs. This ties into finding the right platform and community as many platforms want their artists to succeed. If you engage with them on social media they will almost always return the favor and help market your NFTs to active users on their platform.
In closing, I want to reiterate that I truly believe there is no reason you should not be experiencing some degree of success in your NFT sales with the proper due diligence. Find your niche in the space and start creating, the results will follow.
